Bringing the work together
FairGo has grown from volunteer-led support into an independent organisation. It helps people with individual problems and works to understand and change the conditions that allow those problems to recur.
Our purpose
Justice depends on more than fair rules.
It also rests on what people experience, how professionals act and how institutions operate.
Too often, these levels are treated separately. A case may be resolved without asking why the same problem keeps recurring. Professionals may be left without clear guidance. Evidence may be gathered without reaching those able to act on it.
Our purpose is not only to respond when unfairness occurs, but to make it less likely to occur again.

WHERE FAIRGO BEGAN
From lived experience to systemic change
FairGo began with a problem that affected me personally. I wanted to understand what had happened and how to put it right.
The deeper I looked, the clearer it became that solving one case was not enough. The same weaknesses could affect the next person, and the one after that.
That changed the question. It was no longer only about getting through the system, but about why the problem kept recurring and what could make it less likely to happen again. FairGo grew from that question.
